  • Large classes of 60 or more are split into smaller groups.
  • It is recommended that students wear shoes that can get dirty or muddy.
  • Clothing should be appropriate for the weather (rain or cold) and for being outside for the day.
  • Tours will be canceled in the event of lightning or heavy rain.
  • Costs: $2.00 per person, minimum charge of $30.00.

Sandra Tuthill conducts tours with the assistance of Michigan State University compost specialist Andy Fogiel and/or representatives from Livingston County Extension Service, Soil Conservation Service, Livingston County Solid Waste Department and others.

Jim and Sandra Tuthill and one employee farm full time at the Tuthill Centennial farm.

Jim has served on the MSU Extension Council for Livingston County and is a former tweo-term Green Oak Township Trustee.

Sandra has used her BS in Biology to teach ecology and environmental classes for camps, US Forest Service and US Bureau of Land Management. She has served as Secretary of the Michigan Composting Council, MASA (Michigan Agricultural Stewardship Assoc.) and is on the Board of Directors for Livingston County Farm Bureau.
